Breeding
Frank and Selena Selinger use Josef and Edda Selinger’s Holstein stallion Carthago Sun I (Sunny) for most of their breeding. However, in recent rears they have also begun touse some Sunny mares to do embrio transfers with other stallions. Frank showed Sunny up until 2005. The pair was sixth in the 1.30M Royal and Sun Alliance Welcome at the
Spruce Meadows Masters in September of 2005.

Sunny’s Sire CARTHAGO Z (born 1987) achieved scores of 9.5 in free-jumping and 10 for his jumping ability in his 100-Day test. He has produced five approved stallions (as of 1998). In his International debut, he was fifth under Jos Lansink in the 1996 Du Maurier Grand Prix, Calgary. He also won gold in Aachen for Holland in the Nations Cup in 1997 and then the following year, second in the European Cup.

Sunny’s Dam DAVOS is by Sire SCHAMPUS XX and out of Dam TALENTA. Schampus XX was a winner in thoroughbred racing. Talenta by LANDGRAF I out of BUEHNE, was a legendary Holstein Sports Mare. Buehne won fifty first place ribbons and 200 placings in open jumping competition in only two years. Stallion of the Century Landgraf I (by Ladykiller XX) is one of Holstein’s Foundation Sires and his offspring’s winnings in Germany topped DMarks 6 million.
